LESSON 5 HANDOUTS
- Choose a single social justice issue that impacts your community to explore as a class—with individual collections highlighting different aspects of the same issue—and encourage students to incorporate local images and perspectives into their work (see our Information for Teachers).
- Allow additional time for peer-review, editing, and revision of collections, or for students to critique the visual arrangement, style, approach, and social impact of their finished works.
- Assign a longer essay or response paper in place of the short reflection, asking students to include research on their issue and its historical representation in their writing.
